Did the new Hollywood blockbuster 鈥淭he Odyssey鈥� spark your curiosity about Greek civilization? Are you interested in better understanding how the American landscape has changed over time? 麻豆视频 will offer a diverse range of courses exploring these topics and more during Fall Quarter 2026.
Registration is underway for fall quarter with classes beginning September 21. Among the courses being offered are:
American Sign Language | ASL 101 & 201
YVC offers a series of four courses on American Sign Language to help students interpret,
present and engage in interpersonal communication using ASL skills. ASL 101 offer
students an opportunity to start their foundation in ASL and this fall is the first
time YVC will offer a 200-level ASL course. This 200-level course serves as a direct bridge to 4-year ASL programs offered at
the university level.
Introduction to Poetry | ENGL 137
The course introduces students to critical methods of reading and evaluating poetry
across a wide variety of forms, subjects and moods.
World Regional Geography | GEOG 101
An introduction to the Earth's major geographic regions, their cultural, economic
and physical characteristics, and the interactions between regions. Includes an emphasis
on locations of significant places.
Western Civilization I | HIST 116
A survey of European and Near-Eastern history from the earliest Mediterranean civilizations
through Medieval Europe.
Greek Civilization | HIST 209
Embark on a historical survey of ancient Greek history from the Bronze Age to the
Hellenic and Hellenistic eras. The course will provide a chronology of key events
with emphasis on analyzing the evolution of Greek culture.
American Environmental History | HIST 221
This course surveys landscape change in America from pre-colonialism to the present.
Students will study evolving concepts of nature, environmental politics and the interplay
between development and environment.
Sociology of Sex and Gender | SOC 210
This course focuses on social issues of sexuality and gender through the application
of sociological concepts, theories and research methods.

Are you interested in enrolling in a class or two for personal enrichment, professional development or just plain fun? Non-degree seeking students, those not intending to obtain a degree or certificate, are welcome to enroll in courses that total 11 credits or less per quarter. Non-degree seeking students鈥痑re not鈥痚ligible for financial aid. Registration begins September 14 for part-time, non-degree/certificate-seeking students for Fall Quarter 2026.
Senior citizens, 60 years of age or older, who are Washington state residents can take advantage of the Gold Card Program. This program allows seniors to attend state supported classes at a reduced cost on a space-available basis. Gold Card participants may enroll on the third day of the quarter or when the class has met at least once, whichever is later.
