Returning College Student

鶹Ƶ (YVC) is glad you have decided to return and continue your journey towards obtaining a degree/certificate or an additional degree/certificate. Returning students can follow these guidelines to help make the transition back to YVC an easy one. If you are a returning student and you haven’t attended YVC for a year or more. Then you will need to reapply.

You can activate your new by entering your old Student ID number and birth date. If you have forgotten your Student ID number then click on the “I don’t know or don’t have a SID” option and we will search by name and birthdate. You must enter your legal name.

Steps to Apply

Applying is easy! Just follow the steps below to complete admission to YVC.

  • Pay the $10 application fee — fee waived for residents of Yakima, Kittitas and Klickitat counties. The fee must be paid online as the last step in the application process.
  • To receive the application fee waiver, provide documentation of residency via our .
  • Applications for admission will not be processed until fee is paid.

Once you have applied, you will get an email informing you how to review your Math and English course placement. During your completion of the Online Application for Admissions, you will have uploaded your transcripts and test scores. This will help us place you in an appropriate course.

New Student Orientation (NSO) is here to assist you in identifying your program pathway and course selections and to learn about campus resources. Students with 30 or more transferable college-level classes do not need to attend the NSO however, advising is highly encouraged. Once your transcript(s) and/or placement results have been evaluated, you can sign up for NSO. Transfer students with less than 30 YVC college credits are required to attend NSO and meet with an advisor.

You will register for your classes at the New Student Orientation (NSO). You will be able to view your class registration online using the  or  versions. You can  and enroll in the term you applied for. (.)

Visit your  account to register and pay for classes. Pay your tuition and fees through your ctcLink account by the due date; note that YVC offers multiple payment options for your convenience including a payment plan. You can find helpful guides on our ctcLink Student Tutorials.

  • Visit the Yakima Campus Bookstore! Now that you’ve registered for classes, it is time to buy books. Visit the  to locate and purchase your textbooks.
  • YVC offers Academic Support including Counseling, Computer Labs, Math Center, Tutoring Center, Writing Center, Speech and Language Center, and Library Services. Disability Support Services, TRIO Support Services, CAMP, MESA, and more are available to assist students.
  • Student parking permits are not required on the YVC campuses. Parking is available at no cost on a “first come, first served basis.  The lots available for students on the Yakima Campus are lots A, B, F, H, I, K, L, N, O, P, Q and R.  All other lots are restricted and require a permit for the designated employee classification or visitors with a visitor permit.

Non Traditional Learning

YVC grants college level credit for some non-traditional learning. One form of non-traditional learning is standardized testing from Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), or College Level Examination Program (CLEP). YVC offers other forms of non-traditional learning.
