We humbly recognize that identities, communities, and populations are complex and ever- evolving. We are committed to a regular review of this document to make a living statement that is responsive to the changing needs and demographics of the communities we serve. This declaration and our scope of commitment is not static nor rigid.

  • We BELIEVE that everyone has a right to education that fosters liberation, empowerment, and economic mobility regardless of their starting point or demographics.
  • We BELIEVE that membership in any group does not determine student success.
  • We EMBRACE the power of diversity and seek to create learning and working environments, with inclusivity at the core, that foster a true sense of belonging in our campus community.
  • We COMMIT to regular analysis of data and evaluation our institutional policies and practices, to remove barriers and inequities.
  • We PROVIDE opportunities for economic mobility and socio-cultural engagement.
  • We REMAIN actively committed to creating a work environment where all employees feel valued and can contribute to the goals of our institution.
  • We CULTIVATE diverse partnerships within our community in the pursuit of serving students holistically and through providing them with culturally responsive services.
  • We STRIVE to meet the needs of historically marginalized communities, including racially and ethnically diverse individuals, tribal communities, 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, undocumented individuals, first generation college students, communities of color, immigrant and refugee communities, people with disabilities, and communities with primary languages other than English.
