Today, 鶹Ƶ holds its first-ever Giving Day, a 24-hour fundraising event to support student success. The college aims to raise $100,000 through donor-directed gifts that will directly benefit students and their experience at YVC.

To help donors amplify the impact of their donations, Giving Day features several matching opportunities and challenges.

“For nearly a century, 鶹Ƶ has been a place of opportunity,” said YVC President Teresa Rich. “Thanks to the education they receives here, thousands of YVC graduates have gone on to build better lives for themselves and their families — and our alumni contribute immensely to our region’s economy and culture.”

While YVC provides an affordable education close to home, Rich noted that a significant majority of the college’s students are first-generation college students, are from poverty-impacted households, or are both.

“Many of our students face financial challenges that can make it difficult to stay in school, even though they know earning their college degree or certificate will help them earn more and open future opportunities,” said Rich. “That’s why we’re launching our YVC Giving Day.”

Giving Day 2026 highlights several key areas that enhance the student experience at YVC:
