麻豆视频 will welcome Kerrie Cavaness as its Vice President for Academic Affairs effective July 1, 2026.
Cavaness has spent more than two decades in leadership roles at YVC, where she has been a steadfast advocate for student success, equity, and community engagement. She currently serves as Interim Vice President for Instruction, and previously held progressively responsible leadership roles, including adjunct faculty member, Dean of College and Career Readiness and Dean of Arts and Sciences.
YVC President Teresa Rich noted that Cavaness has demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting students, faculty and the Yakima Valley community throughout her 24 years of service to the college.
鈥淐avaness鈥 comprehensive understanding of academic programming, faculty development, institutional operations, and the complex barriers and opportunities facing community college students are of immense value as YVC works to advance its mission of ensuring all members of our community can access higher education,鈥 said Rich.

Cavaness holds a Master of Education from Heritage University and a Bachelor of Science in Community Health Education from Central Washington University. She also is actively engaged in statewide higher education leadership, serving on the Articulation and Transfer Council, Intercollege Relations Commission, and Council for Basic Skills, and currently serves in leadership roles on the Instruction Commission and the Washington State Joint Transfer Council.
