鶹Ƶ saw its enrollment increase by 7.7% in Fall Quarter 2025 compared to Fall Quarter 2024, reaching its highest fall enrollment numbers since Fall 2019.
The college’s total enrollment for the quarter stands at 4,930 students (with a full-time equivalent enrollment of 3,883), including its Yakima and Grandview campuses, Ellensburg and Toppenish learning centers and online students. Enrollment in ۳հ’s degree- and certificate-granting programs increased by 7.5% in Fall 2025 from the previous year, while enrollment in College and Career Readiness programs (which includes adult basic education, high school completion and English Language Learning classes) increased by 9.1%. Enrollment numbers are as of the 10th day of classes and may change until the end of the term.
“Seeing more people in the Yakima Valley pursue higher education is very positive news for our community,” said YVC Interim President Teresa Rich. “鶹Ƶ is committed to providing a high quality, affordable education that opens up opportunities for students to achieve their dreams and contribute to a thriving region.”
Several degree and certificate programs in ۳հ’s Workforce Education Division are among those seeing higher enrollment this fall, including those in criminal justice, business and engineering.
۳հ’s Running Start program, which allows high school juniors and seniors to earn college credits tuition-free, also saw year-over-year growth of 6.6% for Fall 2025 — surpassing the 1,000 student mark for the first time with 1,003 students in the program.
“We’re honored that so many young people in the Yakima Valley choose to start their college journeys here,” Rich said. “Running Start is a great opportunity for high school students to save money, take advantage of the wide variety of courses YVC offers and experience a college environment.”
With three-quarters of YVC students being the first in their family to attend college, Rich noted the college has maintained a focus on being innovative in the instruction and support services it offers. For the 2025-26 academic year, the YVC Foundation has awarded more than $700,000 in scholarships to students. The college also created a one-stop location on ۳հ’s Yakima Campus for students to handle all of their admission and enrollment needs in Deccio Higher Education Center with the relocation of its Pathway Navigators who help students throughout their college journeys. Other supports include free tutoring services, a career and wellness coach to support students in successful launching their careers, the Supporting Students Experiencing Homelessness program and Food Pantry.
“鶹Ƶ is here for anyone interested in building a better life for themselves and their family,” Rich said. “For nearly a century, our college has been a place where everyone can come to receive an excellent education, supported by faculty and staff who care about them.”
