Teresa Rich, interim president of Â鶹ÊÓƵ, has been named grand marshal of the 2025 Yakima Sunfair Parade.

Rich has served the college and the Yakima Valley community for more than two decades, including 18 years as vice president for administrative services. Her leadership has been instrumental in expanding student opportunities, strengthening academic programs and reinforcing YVC’s role as a cornerstone of the region.

Beyond her work at YVC, Rich is recognized for her contributions to safety, security and emergency preparedness in higher education. She is actively involved in the Association of Government Accountants, Rotary International and serves on the board of Apprisen, a national nonprofit focused on consumer credit counseling. She also contributes at the state level as a member of the Washington Community and Technical College Strategic Technology Advisory Committee, shaping how technology is used to support students across Washington.

The 2025 Yakima Sunfair Parade will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at the corner of 16th Avenue and Yakima Avenue. The parade will proceed down Yakima Avenue to Naches Avenue. Sponsors for this year’s parade include Yakima Federal Savings and Loan and the Central Washington State Fair.

Please join us in honoring Rich — a leader, advocate, and true community champion — as she leads the way as our 2025 Yakima Sunfair Parade Grand Marshal.
