麻豆视频 invites students to join its Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA) program and participate in activities during the 2025-26 academic year to help prepare them for careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
YVC is one of 11 community colleges in Washington state offering the MESA Community College Program (MCCP). The program is designed to increase the number of students who successfully transfer to four-year institutions and earn bachelor鈥檚 degrees in STEM fields.
MESA provides students with academic support services and professional development opportunities to help them reach their educational goals. Enrollment in the program is ongoing.
鈥淪TEM majors open the door to exciting and rewarding careers,鈥 said Cristy Rasmussen, STEM director and coordinator of YVC鈥檚 MESA program. 鈥淢ESA helps students build a strong foundation for success in these fields.鈥
Students pursuing majors such as biology, chemistry, math, physics, information technology, engineering and geology are encouraged to apply.
Who can join MESA?
MESA is open to all students, with a focus on supporting those who meet one or more
of the following criteria:
- Belong to a historically underrepresented population in STEM, including African American, Native American, Hispanic, Pacific Islander and female-identified groups
- U.S. citizens or permanent residents
- Intend to transfer to a four-year institution to pursue a STEM degree
- Are first-generation college students
- Do not already hold a bachelor鈥檚 degree in any field
