鶹Ƶ continued to see strong enrollment growth in Winter Quarter 2026, with an overall increase of 4.3% in student headcount compared to Winter Quarter 2025, reaching its highest winter enrollment numbers since Winter 2020.
The college’s total enrollment for the quarter stands at 4,893 students, including its Yakima and Grandview campuses, Ellensburg and Toppenish learning centers and online students. Enrollment in YVC’s degree- and certificate-granting programs increased by 5.8% in Winter 2026 from the previous year, while enrollment in College and Career Readiness programs (which includes adult basic education, high school completion and English Language Learning classes) increased by 13.9%. Enrollment numbers are as of the 10th day of classes and may change until the end of the term.
“It is very positive for our community to see more people in the Yakima Valley pursue higher education,” said YVC President Teresa Rich. “鶹Ƶ is committed to providing a high quality, affordable education that opens up opportunities for students to achieve their dreams and contribute to a thriving region.”
Several degree and certificate programs in YVC’s Workforce Education Division are among those seeing higher enrollment this year, including those in criminal justice, business and engineering.
With three-quarters of YVC students being the first in their family to attend college, Rich noted the college has maintained a focus on being innovative in the instruction and support services it offers. For the 2025-26 academic year, the YVC Foundation has awarded more than $700,000 in scholarships to students. The college also created a one-stop location on YVC’s Yakima Campus for students to handle all of their admission and enrollment needs in Deccio Higher Education Center with the relocation of its Pathway Navigators who help students throughout their college journeys. Other supports include free tutoring services, a career and wellness coach to support students in successful launching their careers, the Supporting Students Experiencing Homelessness program and Food Pantry.
“鶹Ƶ is here for anyone interested in building a better life for themselves and their family,” Rich said. “For nearly a century, our college has been a place where everyone can come to receive an excellent education, supported by faculty and staff who care about them.”
Students wanting to start their education journey this spring quarter can get started now.
