Did you know what academic pathway you wanted to pursue when you started at YVC? If not, how did your advisor or YVC’s academic pathways help you decide?
I had done my research before attending YVC and knew what I wanted to pursue, but I had no idea how to get started. My pathway advisor has been a critical part of my success so far. I haven’t wasted any time — every class I have taken is contributing directly to my degree.

What made you interested in studying at YVC?
The cost of attendance and the amount of debt I would accrue will be offset by my degree in the long run. It just seemed like a sound investment in my future.

Having a weekly meeting with my tutor has greatly impacted my understanding of math and I suggest everyone take advantage of the tutoring services at YVC

Did you receive any financial aid or scholarship funding to attend YVC? If so, please describe how this helped you on your journey.
I am only able to attend college through financial aid and scholarship funding. I am extremely grateful there are programs out there to help me go to school.

What are your educational or career goals after YVC? What are your dreams?
After I graduate I hope to find a job as a land surveyor. I hope that, through hard work and dedication in college and my career, I’ll eventually be able to open my own construction company.
