About Senaida
Professional Background
I began my career at Â鶹ÊÓƵ (YVC) in 1999, serving in a variety of
roles before advancing into my current position. I provide leadership and oversight
for Admissions and Outreach, Counseling and Advising, as well as Guided Pathways and
Pathway Navigators. My work centers on improving student access, retention, and success
through coordinated, student-centered services.
My Journey
I was a non-traditional, first-generation college student. After graduating from Grandview
High School, I entered the workforce full-time while attending college part-time before
and after work. Through persistence and determination, I earned my associate degree
and, years later, returned to complete both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
Why I Am Here
I believe higher education creates opportunities and expands possibilities for individuals
and families in our community. My personal journey of learning and growing fuels my
commitment to ensuring that all students—especially those who are first-generation
or navigating college for the first time—have access to the support and resources
they need to succeed.
