About Steven
I have been teaching at Â鶹ÊÓƵ since 2014. My time at YVC has been at the Grandview campus where I teach a variety of mathematics courses. The Grandview campus is a bit smaller than the main campus in Yakima, however there is much more of a "family" feel among the students and faculty.
I enjoy seeing and interacting with students outside of the classroom and the Grandview campus gives me more opportunity to do that. I earned my Master of Science degree in Mathematics from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California. Upon graduating from Cal Poly, SLO, I worked for Hewlett-Packard for 16 years. After HP, I moved to the Pacific Northwest and worked for Mentor Graphics Corporation in Wilsonville, Oregon for 15 years.
The "west side" of the Cascades got a bit to crowded for me and my wife so we moved to Goldendale, Washington where we started a horse rescue ranch and I started teaching at YVC. When I am not tending to the ranch, I enjoy playing guitar and traveling and exploring other states.
