About Shannon
I am an Irish immigrant who has always loved to read and write. Essentially a drop-out from Ireland's educational system, which did not cater to neurodivergent individuals, I found my academic path through the community college system in the U.S., attending Tacoma Community College for two years before transferring to Evergreen.
After a stint as a journalist and editor, I continued my educational journey at CWU before landing a teaching job right after graduating with my MA. I've been at YVC ever since, mainly because I love the diverse and dedicated student body and enjoy working with my innovative and supportive colleagues.
I write for pleasure and have a side hustle as an equine massage therapist, which supports my ADHD need to move and be connected to nature.
