About Sarah

I am blessed to be a part of the YVC campus community for almost 20 years and follow my passion for teaching. As the oldest of four children in my family, I am a first-generation student that had to work hard to navigate the unfamiliar paths to pursue a bachelor degree and then continue to earn my master of science in nutrition. I appreciate the opportunity at YVC to work with students in the classroom, advising, STEM summer research projects, and other activities that support them to be successful in their academic pursuits.

The Nutr&101 courses offered at YVC are a natural science distribution for students completing their AA-DTA degrees as well as prerequisite for nursing and dental hygiene programs in the state of Washington.

I enjoy hiking, biking, walking our dogs, kayaking, skiing, golf, traveling, and eating all types of delicious food. I learned to surf in Sayulita Mexico in February 2023 for my 50th birthday celebration... never too old to learn new things!
