About Peter
I have taught Spanish from PRE-K through adult education. After teaching Spanish at YVC for over a decade I can say this is my favorite place to teach! I love the daily engagement with students at the college level. Each quarter brings a new cohort of students into my classes who are eager to advance their language abilities as they navigate degrees at YVC.
Our language classes provide opportunities for dynamic interpersonal communication! Students who want an interactive classroom environment will enjoy mastering language skills with their peers.
I grew up in Toppenish, WA, where I learned Spanish in bilingual classrooms. Since then, I have had opportunities to live extensively in Mexico and travel in Spanish-speaking countries around the world. Travel abroad is my greatest passion! Sharing my love for languages, learning, and linguistics drives my daily instruction in the classroom.
As an educator, I have coached soccer for the same duration as I have taught Spanish, including coaching the YVC Women's Yaks for several seasons. Additionally, I am a filmmaker with a focus on documentary and educational films. Most recently, I have produced promotional films for YVC.
My contributions to YVC have ranged from teaching to coaching to filmmaking. Working with the students/faculty/staff has been inspirational and professionally rewarding! Nos vemos pronto en las clases de español de YVC!
