About Mark
I am a first generation college graduate who found my intellectual and artistic strengths from attending Modesto Junior College in California. It was at MJC where I found my passion for ideas and writing, specifically writing short stories and poetry. I carried that passion with me to San Diego and then San Francisco.
While working on my college degrees worked lots of odd jobs, sometimes three at a time while attending classes full time. I also wrote on spec and aspired to perform music and comedy in some professional capacity. Eventually I found a passion for teaching writing that matches and compliments my artistic efforts as a writer and poet. I have had many poems published as well as short stories. I'm currently working on something...always working in something.
I live with my wife and one dog and I keep large aquaria as a hobby. I have three grown children I am very proud of who are all very different from each other. Being a father is my favorite job ever.
