About John
I grew up in California鈥檚 Bay Area and the Sierra Nevada. After earning a bachelor鈥檚 degree in English, I moved to Seattle and launched an indie rock band that toured over 240,000 miles and played over 600 shows. I've also written three novels.
I relocated to Yakima in 2012 and turned my focus to poetry, making weird records, and striving to live this Kurt Vonnegut quote: 鈥淲e are put on this planet to fart around, and don鈥檛 let anybody tell you anything different.鈥� At YVC, I've tutored students as a Writing Center Coordinator for the past 12+ years, striving to teach the power of writing as a path toward a robust life of critical thinking and amplified moxie.
