About Jeff

I enjoy teaching at YVC because of our friendly, hard-working students and our supportive staff and faculty. YVC is a place that helps students discover their potential and become lifelong learners. As a writing instructor, I enjoy helping students develop confidence in themselves as writers and learn skills needed in college. I teach classes ranging from developmental writing to college composition to literature and creative writing classes. Whether a student is writing a paragraph, an academic essay, a response to a poem or a short story, or their own poem or short story, I enjoy helping students develop and organize ideas, understand their own writing processes, or express their creativity. 

I grew up in Kennewick, Washington, attended Columbia Basin College, Washington State University, and Eastern Washington University, and now live in West Richland. My second "home" is J眉lich, Germany, where I was a high school exchange student, living with a family and attending school for one year.
