About Gabriela

I enjoy working at YVC because I love how the college is so supportive of its students. I work as support for Cristy and Vanessa in the STEM program and I love being part of the positive impact and support that every student gets in this program. I see how students feel so happy and supported by Cristy and Vanessa and that is important to me.

I have been working as the Bilingual STEM/Math and Sciences Senior Secretary since October 2024. Currently I hold Associates of Applied Science (AAS) degree obtained here at YVC. And I am currently enrolled at Central Washington University to obtain my bachelor's in business management. Working alongside students and professors in STEM has been a deeply rewarding experience for me. It has inspired me to continue my education with the goal of becoming an even stronger resource and advocate for students. I love walks in nature, watching sunsets by the beach, camping, cooking with my kids and picnics.

My goal is to earn my bachelor's degree in business here in YVCC, then my Masters in higher education. One day I hope to be in a position at YVC where I can be supporting the STEM and MESA program in a greater way. Helping students reach their goals is very inspiring to me and it makes coming to work everyday exciting.

Students should participate in this program because it introduces them to valuable resources they may not have been aware of. Thanks to this program and the guidance of my supervisors, students receive essential information and support. Additionally, Cristy hosts a scholarship program on Fridays, providing extra assistance with scholarship applications to help them access even more opportunities.
