About Dr. Armanino
Daniel Armanino is a Professor of Sociology and Anthropology in the Department of Social Sciences at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ (YVC). Prior to coming to YVC, Daniel was an instructor at California State University, Channel Islands where he also served as the sociology student advisor. He earned his Ph.D. in Sociology from UC Santa Barbara (2016); M.A.in Social Sciences from the University of Chicago (2006); and B.A. in Anthropology from Cal Poly Humboldt (2000).
Daniel’s areas of specialization are global studies, social theory, political sociology, organizations, and culture. Daniel’s current research interests are in the area of globalization especially as they pertain to the fields of global civil society, migration, economy, and governance. He also has a focus on medical sociology and anthropology born out of a long history of working in the medical industry and a dedication to making it more human centered. All of these interests are driven by a strong devotion to theoretical modeling and exploration.
