Meet Chris

In my classes, I welcome a collaborative learning environment where students share and express ideas through a variety of digital imaging techniques. Students experiment with camera and lighting setups, applying Photoshop enhancements to images, as well as incorporating critical thinking skills to render creative content. I encourage students to explore the endless possibilities of photography as a powerful form of visual expression.

I am originally from Southwest Oklahoma. Prior to joining YVC, I lived in the Tampa Bay area where I taught classes ranging from black and white darkroom, large format processes, digital imaging, history of photography, and more.

My personal work deals with issues of identity and place, the relationship between the two, and how memory plays an important role in how we remember home and who we were while we were there.
