About Alicia
Alicia has been the Director of Drama at YVC since 2005. A military brat, Alicia spent much of her youth moving from state to state, and even overseas, until her father did a brief tour of duty in Vietnam. Alicia began her onstage career at the age of ten when she accompanied her father to an audition at ANTA-West in Hollywood, and was subsequently cast as a principal in a one act play.
As a young woman living in NYC, Alicia took private acting and voice lessons for two years. She subsequently left NY for Athens, GA, where she stayed busy with theatre projects, sang with a rock and roll band, and earned a BA in History from the University of Georgia.
In 2002, while pursuing her MFA at University of Idaho-Moscow, Alicia was selected as a Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival Irene Ryan national finalist. Since 2005, she has taught acting, stage makeup, and general theatre courses at YVC, as well as directed many of the department’s productions.
