Jazz students experience history on European tour

In April 2005, Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Jazz Ensemble embarked on a ten-day performance tour of Poland and Denmark, led by Music Instructor Isi Rudnick. The trip, years in the making, took an unexpected turn when the group arrived in Warsaw to learn of Pope John Paul II’s passing. As the first Polish pope, John Paul II was deeply revered figure in his homeland, and his death marked a moment of profound national mourning.  Though concerts in Poland were canceled out of respect, students embraced the experience, witnessing a historic event and gaining a deeper appreciation of the country’s rich culture and heritage. The tour concluded with a well-received performance in Copenhagen.

ASYVC student clubs unite for holiday giving

Members of student clubs with food donation in 2004

Members of Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Action, Voice and Engineering student clubs teamed up to donate more than 4  pallets of food during the 2004 holiday season. Engineering students sparked a friendly competition to see which club could collect the most items —and then used the cans to build a festive structure. In addition to the food drive, the clubs provided grocery store gift cards to nine local families.
