About Maria
My passion has always been helping people, and I am grateful to be in a role where
I can support students as they work toward their educational and career goals. I enjoy
guiding students through processes that can sometimes feel overwhelming and making
sure they are connected to the resources and support they need to be successful.
My dedication to student support comes from my background in social work.
Before joining YVC, I worked in Spokane supporting foster youth as they navigated major life transitions. In that role, I helped young people access services, learn essential life skills, and discover the possibilities available to them through higher education. Those experiences shaped my belief in the power of clear guidance, compassion, and consistency.
At YVC, I bring that same commitment to every student I meet. Whether someone is just beginning their journey or returning to school after time away, my goal is to help them feel confident, informed, and supported. I believe every student deserves someone in their corner, and I’m proud to be part of a team that works every day to make education more accessible and meaningful.
